Jackie Joyner-Kersee

Jackie Joyner-Kersee is a Olympic medalist in heptathlon “( most grueling competition in sports)”
and long jump; also, is World Champion in heptathlon and long jump. Jackie holds the World
record of heptathlon. Joyner liked to do track and field going up. She was known as “Jackie the
tomboy” from the neighborhood kids; they called her that because of her style, pigtails, cut off
jeans, and a T-shirt. As a kid, Jackie played every sport she could. She was so good that
coaches wanted Jackie to come and play for their volleyball, basketball, and softball teams.
In 1978, she was now known as an athlete, not Jackie the tomboy because she led her high
school to the basketball championship her sophomore year. The University of California is
were Jackie went to college to met her track coach/husband Bobby Kersee. As Bobby being
her coach, she racked up six Olympic medals; she won three gold medals, one silver, and two
bronzes. Jackie’s brother, Al Joyner,Jr., won the triple-jump and got a got medal. Four years
later Jackie won “outdid” Al and won two gold medals, one was in the heptathlon and the other
was in long jump. Doing all of these things Jackie put in her head that she was the greatest
female athlete. But being the great athlete that is is, Jackie had asthma and sometime had the
bring a mask so she can breathe. Winning all the medals she did and having asthma is hard to
and many athlete can but the one athlete that did is Jackie Joyner-Kersee. But is Jackie good
enough to be called the greatest athlete of all time?

Michael Jordan

The author Joe Layden thinks Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time.  Now Michael Jordan is famous for the one hand dunk from the free throw line that no one during his time could do. Some people even call him “Air Jordan”  because of his special dunk. Michael is also famous for his shoes, the Jordan’s: the Ovo 12s, Jordan 5s and the many many more. He made the number 23 legendary and now you see players like Lebron James, Draymond Green, and etc.are wearing the number. Before Michael Jordan was the great NBA player that everybody knows today, one fact you might not know about him is that, he was cut from his high school team. But he didn’t give up; now he is in the Hall of Fame and almost everybody is wearing his shoes, the Jordans. MJ won ten NBA titles and also two Olympic gold medals. When Michael Jordan was a freshman in college he led the school to have  the NCAA titles in 1982. Michael is a 6’6’’ point guard that got drafted to the Bulls. He also won two NBA Slam Dunk Champions, took the Bulls to three NBA championships where they one each time, and was named MVP every year they won the championship. Michael Jordan is Chicago Bulls’ all-time leading scorer with 29,277 points and he is still the top scoring player for the bulls with 930 points. Michael Jordan, MJ, Air Jordan is all one person and that one person might be the greatest athlete of all time; do y’all think?

Muhammad Ali

Being the greatest athlete of all times is hard to achieve because there are so many great athletes.
To the author Adam Grant, thinks Muhammad Ali is the greatest athlete. Muhammad Ali brought a new
style of fighting to boxing. Boxing used to be beat the person in front of you down. But, Muhammad
was humorous, “handsome and charming.” One of Ali’s sayings “I’m pretty, I’m young, and I can’t
possibly be beat!” Muhammad Ali was a great boxer, he busted through his competition like it was
nothing. Ali changed his religion to Black Muslin and he also changed his name to Muhammad Ali
from Cassius Clay. Muhammad Ali was drafted to the war but he didn’t fight because he said it’s
against his religion to be in the war. Ali had to go to court and was found guilty of evading the draft.
Muhammad Ali spent three years in jail that he can’t get back and the three years he spent in jail
could of been used for boxing. He was 28 when found not guilty. The reports said that he
won’t be champion again and that it would be hard on him in the ring. Muhammad Ali actually did
the opposite and be become champion again. Every since then Ali’s career went up: he won the
biggest match off his life, was ‘’admitted”into the Olympic Hall of Fame , and  “admitted” into the
International Boxing Hall of Fame. Do y’all think that Muhammad Ali is the greatest athlete of all
time or do y’all think it is an athlete that tops Ali?
